Coaches
Player safety is our primary concern so we invest in our coaches by hosting numerous coaching clinics facilitated by
Football Ontario to ensure we have the most qualified and educated coaches on the field.
It is mandatory that all our coaches complete a number of Football Canada's coaching programs prior to stepping on the field for practice.
These include:
Making Headway: An online course that covers what to do to prevent concussions, how to recognize the signs and symptoms of a concussion, what to do when you suspect an athlete has a concussion, and how to ensure athletes return to play safely.
Safe Contact: All our football coaches are required to get “Safe Contact trained” in a full day program that equips coaches with how to teach the latest safe blocking and tackling techniques.
Community Sport U14 Course: All our head coaches must also complete a full day Community Sport course that focuses on making ethical decisions, fundamental movement skills, practice planning, communication skills and more.
